We have chosen to use devices that are extremely user-friendly for patients and allow for a streamlined and continuous data transfer. Given the typically high median age of the patients who are in need of regular remote reading monitoring and their general lack of ease with modern technologies, simplicity of use is crucial to the success of this system. The devices are equipped with a sim card that transmits all patient readings to our server. Your cost for this sim card service is included with device acquisition for the first year and it is around $22 for each subsequent year. Devices are operated by AAA/AA batteries. Extended life batteries are provided with initial supply. Our system monitors battery life and warns both patients and medical care team when it is time to replace them.
